Introduction: Considering the importance of traffic culture in reducing traffic accidents and increasing road safety, this article examines the role of training courses in improving students' traffic culture with regard to the mediation of parental cooperation and the moderating effects of gender and age indicators in schools in Tehran.
research methodology: This research was of applied type in terms of purpose and descriptive correlation in terms of data collection method. The statistical population was high school students in Tehran, 145 students were selected by convenience sampling method. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. Pearson correlation coefficients and path analysis and structural equation modeling with Smart PLS software were used for data analysis.
Findings: The results indicate that there is a significant effect between holding training courses and the variables of students' traffic attitude; students' traffic knowledge; students' risky behaviors; students' self-confidence. The results of the Sobel test indicate the mediating role of the variable of parental cooperation between the variables of students' traffic attitude; students' traffic knowledge; students' risky behaviors; students' self-confidence and participation in the training course. It should be noted that, based on the results, the variables of age and population generally have a moderating relationship in the model.
Conclusion: When conducting training courses, attention should be paid to age and population variables. Finally, based on the research results, solutions were presented, including the creation of interactive educational programs for parents and students, the use of modern technologies in teaching traffic culture, and the promotion of road safety concepts.
